Cindy L. Caditz, Member
Ms. Caditz joined the firm in 1987 as an associate, and in 1993 she was the first woman to become a member of COJK. Ms. Caditz has evaluated trademark availability and registrability, prepared and prosecuted U.S. and foreign trademark applications, and has been directly involved in trademark opposition practice, both domestically and internationally. Her practice also includes all transactional aspects of trademark law such as licensing and related contractual agreements. She uses her extensive skills to manage portfolios of substantial size, and protects trademarks through administrative and civil litigation venues. Proactive counseling and anticipation of problems have resulted in cost savings and efficiencies for many of her clients and have become one of the hallmarks of her practice. She also counsels and litigates in the related areas of trade names, unfair competition, and trademark infringement. Ms. Caditz has experience with e-commerce developments, such as domain name registration and application strategies, copyright registrations, cyber security issues, cybersquatters, unauthorized use of trademarks on the Internet, counseling regarding laws governing online activities, and domain name arbitrations.
