COJK is pleased to announce that Kyle E. Yarberry has been elected to the membership, effective January 1, 2022.
Kyle Yarberry is an attorney in the firm's patent practice group who focuses on utility and design patent procurement in a wide range of mechanical and electrical technologies. Kyle also counsels clients on freedom-to-operate matters, appealing decisions of patent examiners before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), supporting inter partes review proceedings before the PTAB, and litigating matters in federal district court.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Kyle worked in the finance industry, providing lending services to clients in the energy sector, with particular focus on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas companies. From his experience in finance and law, Kyle understands that clients often view IP assets as a means to achieve commercial objectives, and he works with clients to achieve the best legal outcome consistent with the client’s business goals.
Kyle earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and received his B.S., cum laude, in mechanical engineering and mathematics from Southern Methodist University. Kyle is also a patented inventor, holding five U.S. patents in the field of mechanical engineering.
