COJK is pleased to announce the election of T. Stasiu Nowak, Ph.D. to the membership and the addition of new attorney Jennifer R. Ashton to the firm.

T. Stasiu Nowak, Ph.D. is an attorney in the firm’s life sciences practice group, where he focuses his patent practice in the areas of molecular biology and immunology, including cancer treatment, platform cell biology technologies, DNA sequencing technologies, vaccines, and antibody-based therapeutics. Stasiu’s doctoral research experience includes gene expression profiling of host and parasites during the course of infection, and gene expression knockdown studies to address the roles of candidate genes. Prior to his graduate studies, Stasiu was involved in the discovery and identification of ligands for orphan Gprotein coupled receptors. Stasiu obtained his B.A. degree in biology from the University of Virginia, his Ph.D. degree in biology from the University of New Mexico, and his J.D. degree from the University of Washington School of Law.
Jennifer R. Ashton joins the firm’s trademark practice group, and will focus her practice on assisting clients with acquiring, maintaining, and policing their trademark, copyright, and domain name rights. Jennifer is experienced in all aspects of U.S. and international trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and maintenance. She routinely counsels clients regarding global trademark, copyright, domain name, trade dress, and related intellectual property matters, including domestic and foreign brand selection, prosecution, enforcement, customs protection, acquisitions, and intellectual property portfolio and global brand protection strategies. Jennifer obtained her B.A. degree in English literature from Columbia University, and her J.D. degree from Villanova University School of Law.
