COJK Welcomes New Attorney

COJK is pleased to welcome Mark A. Bailey, Ph.D. to the firm. Mark is a registered patent attorney focusing his practice on patent prosecution and counseling in the areas of molecular biology, vaccines, immunology, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals. Mark's practice also includes experience in ex parte reexaminations and inter partes review proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. 

Mark has a Ph.D. in cell biology and molecular physiology from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine, where his doctoral research resulted in the publication of several articles in the fields of biology, chemistry, and physiology. Prior to pursuing his law degree, Mark was a postdoctoral research fellow at Oregon Health and Science University's (OHSU) Vollum Institute, followed by a second fellowship at OHSU's Department of Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry.

Mark received his J.D., with an Intellectual Property Law Certificate, from the University of California, Davis School of Law. After law school, Mark clerked at the United States Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Trial and Appeal Board under former Director Iancu.
