COJK and eight members of the firm were recognized in the 9th annual publication of the International Asset Management (IAM) guide, IAM Patent 1000 — The World’s Leading Patent Professionals. The guide names COJK to the list for Washington state in all three categories considered: patent prosecution, litigation, and transactions, and places COJK among the top four firms in the state for patent prosecution services.

As a result of their research process, the guide reports, "There’s nothing that COJK can’t do in patent practice," noting the firm's "attorney roster is chock-full of seasoned technologists."  The guide also recognizes COJK for its collaborative environment and how this collaboration "elevates the service and paves the way for joined-up solutions."  The firm's dispute resolution team was recognized as being, "Unafraid to look at things differently and shift paradigms," and for "focusing on innovative ways to resolve IP disputes outside the courtroom."

Attorneys John Denkenberger, Rhys Lawson, Brian McMahon, Jerry Nagae, Melissa Nowak, George Renzoni, David Sheldon, and Brandon Stallman were recognized by the guide for their skills in patent law.

IAM Patent 1000 identifies leading firms and individuals in the patent prosecution, transactions and litigation fields around the world. The guide was compiled following an extensive research process which included approximately 1,800 interviews with attorneys at law, patent attorneys and in-house counsel to gather market intelligence on the leading lawyers in the field. Firms and individuals qualify for a listing on the basis of their depth of expertise, market presence, and the level of work on which they are typically engaged.  For more on this year's IAM listing, please click here.
