COJK Welcomes New Associates
COJK is pleased to announce that Nicholas A. Clawson and Matthew J. Ruppel have joined the firm as associates. Both Nick and Matt were law clerks with COJK before joining the firm as associates upon graduation from law school in June.
“We are excited to welcome Nick and Matt to the firm,” said managing member John Denkenberger, “Each brings their unique skill sets, life experiences, and enthusiasm to COJK and their practices, adding to our robust patent practice and further enabling us to serve our diverse client base.”
Nick Clawson will focus his practice on the drafting of patent applications related to electrical engineering technologies. Nick’s experience extends to assisting with litigation matters, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and conducting factual due diligence. Nick earned his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Prior to entering law school, Nick served as a logistics officer in the United States Army.
Matt Ruppel will focus his practice on drafting patent applications for chemistry related innovations. Matt earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law, his Master of Science degree in analytical chemistry from the University of California, San Diego, and his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, cum laude with distinction, from the University of Washington. Prior to going into law school, Matt was a high school teacher at Redmond High School in Washington, teaching chemistry, earth sciences, physics, and English.
