USPTO Launches Trademarks for Humanity Awards
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) announced today the establishment of its new program, the Trademarks for Humanity awards, which will recognize brand owners who are harnessing the power of trademarks to help solve humanitarian challenges. The inaugural awards year will focus on the environment, recognizing brand owners who improve the environment through their products and services. The Trademarks for Humanity awards joins other recent USPTO initiatives designed to address environmental challenges, including the Patent for Humanity Program’s green energy award category; expedited examination procedures under the Climate Change Mitigation Pilot Program; and a partnership with WIPOs GREEN program.
