USPTO Reduces Trademark Application and Renewal Fees
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published its final rule in the Federal Register on December 16, 2014, amending its regulations to reduce certain trademark application and renewal fees. According to the USPTO, fee reductions will reduce processing costs and promote efficiency for the USPTO and its customers.
Effective January 17, 2015, the fee for electronically filing a trademark application will be reduced $50, provided the applicant authorizes email communication, and agrees to file all responses and other documents electronically during the prosecution of the application. The fee associated with a renewal application for a trademark registration in one class will be reduced $100.
