Cory Claassen focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patents in the electrical, optical, and mechanical fields. Cory's practice extends to patent infringement and validity opinions, patent portfolio management, and intellectual property strategy and counseling. He provides these services to clients across a diverse array of technologies, including semiconductor devices, electronics, display and imaging technologies, applied optics, fiber optics, applied physics, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), medical devices, and circuits.
Prior to law school, Cory served as an ASIC designer at Nortel Semiconductors and as a microwave engineer at Norsat International Inc. He holds a B.A.Sc. in physics and electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia, and a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
