Margie Aoki collaborates with clients to develop strategies to protect their intellectual property, working closely with inventors to craft robust utility and design patent applications that highlight the client's innovations. During examination, Margie encourages open communication with patent examiners to find the most efficient path towards allowance.

Margie's experience extends to freedom-to-operate and validity opinions, design-around strategies, and due diligence for portfolio acquisitions. Her pragmatic approach to the review of third-party patent assets provides a deliverable that compliments the business considerations of the client.

Leveraging her industry experience as a mechanical systems engineer at a multinational technology company, Margie advises clients on technologies related to alternative and clean energy, automobile and repair systems, cable connection and repair systems, consumer products, cosmetic devices, food processing equipment, heavy duty vehicles, medical devices, pharmaceutical dispensing, spacecraft systems, and tools and machinery.

Margie was named to the list of The Best Lawyers in America in 2022 for her work in patent law.
