Ryan Dodge has been in practice for over 25 years, assisting clients to protect their intellectual property across a variety of technologies. Ryan brings to his practice his experience as a senior research engineer at a national laboratory, where he focused on power generating systems, computational fluid dynamics, and space power systems. Ryan specializes in the preparation and prosecution of utility patents, with an emphasis in green technologies and mechanical systems, in patent infringement and validity opinions, and in related litigation. His practice extends to the procurement of U.S. and foreign design patents. Ryan's practice encompasses a diverse array of industries, including agricultural and aquaculture equipment, aerospace products, commercial watercraft, consumer goods, medical imaging technologies, pest control, and sporting goods.
Ryan has published numerous technical papers in the fields of computational thermal hydraulics, power system analysis, and advanced space power systems. He is a former member of the board of directors of the Washington State Patent Law Association (WSPLA), where he also served as president. He is a member of WSPLA's Mentor Committee, where he mentors students from the University of Washington and Seattle University. He is also a frequent judge at the University of Washington's Environmental Innovation Challenge. Ryan is peer rated AV® Preeminent™ on Martindale-Hubbell and is recognized by Thomson Reuters in its Stand-out Lawyers database.
