Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Successful companies aggressively enforce and defend their IP rights in the global market. IP litigation, however, can be extremely complex and the stakes are usually very high. At COJK, we understand the inherent risks of litigation, whether to a product line, a business unit, or an entire business. We work with our clients to understand their desired outcomes and develop a litigation strategy that advances their business goals.

We handle all types of IP matters and disputes, including cases that involve patents, trademarks, trade dress, trade secrets, copyrights, and license agreements and contracts. We have represented clients ranging from entrepreneurs to multinational corporations, across a diverse array of industries, including agriculture, aerospace, alternative energy, automotive, biotechnology, computer hardware and networking, construction and building, consumer goods, environmental science, entertainment and gaming, financial services, heavy duty vehicles and machinery, mechanical devices, medical diagnostics and devices, mobile technology and devices, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, recreational equipment, semiconductors, software, and telecommunications.

COJK attorneys – many of whom have technical degrees – are skilled at presenting highly complex, technical cases to a judge or jury in an understandable way. We manage all phases of a jury trial, arbitration, mediation, or an appeal, and represent clients nationally and internationally through a close network of foreign associates. Our attorneys have represented clients in federal district courts across the country and before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. We also have experience with U.S. Customs, with proceedings before the International Trade Commission, and with trademark opposition and cancellation actions before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
