The Department of Commerce recently announced the upcoming ceremony honoring the 2018 inductees of the 46th Annual National Inventors Hall of Fame.  The National Inventors Hall of Fame, established in 1973 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, honors those individuals who have contributed great technological and scientific achievements that help to stimulate national and international growth.  The criteria for induction "requires candidates to hold a U.S. patent that has contributed significantly to the nation's welfare and the advancement of science and the useful arts."  Of the 15 inductees, five will be honored posthumously. The induction ceremony will take place at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, on May 3, 2018.
