The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has announced the development of the Semiconductor Technology Pilot Program to advance semiconductor technology innovation by expediting examination of qualifying utility patent applications. Aimed to accelerate improvements in the semiconductor industry, the program was developed to support the CHIPS for America program, to prioritize critical IP protections to incentivize investments in domestic semiconductor manufacturing.
