Trademark Basics: What Every Small Business Should Know Now, Not Later

COJK, in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and Northwest Entrepreneurs Network, hosted the USPTO educational outreach program, "Trademark Basics:  What Every Small Business Should Know Now, Not Later."  The presentation discussion included:

  • The differences between trademark, copyright and patents;
  • How to identify when trademark protection is appropriate;
  • The importance of seeking trademark protection, including selecting a strong mark and conducting trademark searches; and
  • Potential grounds for USPTO trademark registration refusal.
